No. It is not uncommon for students to utilize subject-specific tutoring such as Geometry or Chemistry. Traditional tutoring is typically only required to support student learning after SET Academic Coaching and classroom teacher support has been exhausted first.
SET Academic Coaching offers both in-person and virtual coaching. Clients are not restricted to one mode of coaching. Many clients utilize a hybrid method of coaching.
Yes. Summer coaching is one of the best opportunities for families to take advantage of academic coaching. It allows the student the opportunity to begin to build good habits during a much less stressful time for them as they do not have to balance their normal academic rigor.

I am available for in person sessions, fully remote sessions, and/or a hybrid of the two. The goal of this approach is to meet the client at their level and create the form of coaching that works best for them to achieve ultimate success.
Yes. Each coaching plan is unique to each student client. We can happily focus on one specific area, but also ensure to adjust and include any and all aspects of SET's Core Services to ensure the optimal learning plan for your student.
After the initial introductory meeting with both students and their parents, goals are set and the frequency of sessions is established. Clients typically meet once a week for the entire academic school year.
Clients are asked to cancel 24-hours in advance to avoid any fees. Each client is allotted one unexcused absence per academic calendar year without incurring a fee.
SET Academic Coaching focuses on overall academic success across all core classes, as the focus is less subject-based and more confidence and skill based. Additionally, We specialize in students with ADHD, and teach and reinforce active study skills and executive skills. SET also specializes in Spanish-language instruction and acquisition.
There is no magic timetable for results. It is a process, and there will be numerous successess along the way.
Absolutely. The skills taught and acquired from SET Academic Coaching will better prepare students for all types of assessments.
Parents receive a monthly update via email about their child's progress. In addition, there is a monthly 30 minute parent call included for time sensitive issues.
